Concert series brings sounds of summer to Langley park

Wednesday evening concerts are planned for Douglas Park starting July 3

Wednesday evening performances are planned for Douglas Park Spirit Square starting Wednesday, July 3. Sounds of Summer is the concert series being run at the park with the bandshell. Shows features a double bill of performers and run from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 3, people can sit in the park and enjoy classic rock, country and oldies by the Jim Abbott Band followed by the Coyote Creek Band performing country and rock music.

The July 10 show will have the Seabillies with Celtic music, and Jackson Hollow, which plays folk, country, bluegrass, and more.

For July 31, there's KatMoon, with indie, folk, rock and country, as well as the Willoughby Ridge Band offering folk, country and bluegrass.

The bands scheduled for Aug. 7 are Bargain Shoppers Club with their roots, folk rock, classic rock, and country music. Sharing the bill is the blues, classic rock, classical, and country music of Troy Toma.

On Aug. 14 there's the classic rock, golden oldies of Danny Bay followed by Johnny Elvis.

The Quintessential Jazz Band and Linda Szentes with Jazzlinks will entertain on Aug. 21.

The show on Aug. 28 features choirs. The Peace Arch Chorus will perform folk, jazz, and golden oldies, while the Soundscape Chorus has popular music from different eras as well as show tunes and jazz.
