Dear Editor,

Our adult son with intellectual challenges regularly uses the local buses to get around.

Recently, he arrived home without his phone, having inadvertently left it on the bus, but it was getting late by the time we discovered this.

To make matters worse, the phone case contains his bus pass and some other important cards.

We hoped, if we called his cell number, that someone would pick up his phone and answer.

After several attempts, we gave up.

My husband called one more time before going to bed, and the bus driver answered!

He found out where we lived and told my husband when his bus route next passed through our neighbourhood, arranging to meet him at a specific stop.

Half an hour later, we had our son’s phone back.

We are so thankful for the bus driver who took the time to answer, speak to my husband and arrange to meet us.

We didn’t think to ask for his name, but thank you, whoever you are!
